Circus to return to Murray with 'Fully Charged, Gold Edition'

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is coming back to Murray with their new production, "Fully Charged, Gold Edition."

Before the show, Ambassadors of Laughter will visit elementary schools, libraries and daycares Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2 with free education programs such as Reading with Ringling, CircusFit Interactive or Science of the Circus.

'Kentucky Crafted: The Market' to be held in early March

FRANKFORT, KY (KFVS) - More than 30 state's musicians and musical acts will play on the Kentucky Stage on March 2 and 3 at the Lexington Convention Center for 'Kentucky Crafted: The Market.'

The music is just one aspect of of the event along with thousands of handcrafted items created by Commonwealth artists. 

The Kentucky Stage will feature two full days of musical performances by performers from around the state. 

Saturday, March 2 will feature Mitch Barrett, Hog Operation, Appalatin among others.

LeMay & Reese, Heath & Molly and No Tools Loaned are on the list of several performers lined up for Sunday, March 3.

Concerts will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

All concerts are included with the price of admission to The Market.

Advance tickets are on-sale until Feb. 27. One day tickets are $8 online, $10 at the door. Two-day tickets are $12 online and $15 at the door.

Groups can apply now for Murray's litter abatement program

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - The City of Murray says their Litter Abatement program enables youth groups, civic groups, fundraising groups, etc. an opportunity to raise money by picking up litter along the city streets.

The City says all supplies are provided and groups are paid $6 per hour.

McCracken County schools take home big competition wins

McCracken County schools take home big competition wins

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Middle school students from Paducah recently competed in the Regional Governor's Cup competition and took first and second place in the district. 

Lone Oak Middle School finished first in the district, followed by Heath Middle School in second and Murray Middle School in third. 

Other schools participating include Calloway County, Graves County, South Marshall, North Marshall, Ballard County Fulton City, Community Christian Academy, St. Mary, Fulton County, Mayfield, Benton, Carlisle County, Paducah, Reidland, Hickman County and Livingston County.

The Lone Oak Middle School Quick Recall team took top prize in the Quick Recall competition with Heath, Murray and Calloway middle schools finishing in the 2nd through 4th spots.

The Calloway County Middle School Future Problem Solving team finished first in the Future Problem Solving Competition followed by Heath, Lone Oak and South Marshall middle schools.

German-based auto supplier moving to Murray, creating 120 full-time jobs

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Gov. Steve Beshear joined company and local officials in Murray to announce Wednesday, January 16 that Kemmerich USA will establish a manufacturing operation and its U.S. headquarters in Calloway County.

The project, which brings 120 new, full-time jobs and a $12.2 million investment to the Commonwealth, is the second new location announcement by a German-owned company in Murray within the past two months. Gov. Beshear announced in late November that iwis will establish its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Murray, a project that also stemmed from the Governor’s trip to Europe in July.
