3 from Detroit area arrested in Murray check forgery investigation

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - On May 17 the Murray Police Department, in a joint investigation with the United States Secret Service, arrested three individuals involved in passing forged checks in Murray.

Kenyata Mandel Anderson, 37, and Devonta Turay Jones, 21, of Detroit; and Errick Dixon, 47, of Southfield Mich. (a suburb of Detroit) were taken into custody Friday during a felony traffic stop on North 12th Street in Murray near Wal-Mart.

The three were charged with Criminal Possession of a forged instrument second degree and theft by unlawful taking over $500, and lodged at the Calloway County Jail.  Federal charges are also pending.

Murray man arrested on search warrants

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - A Murray man was arrested May 9 after warrants were issued for him.

According to the Murray Police Department, Kory Roach was wanted for warrants including failure to appear and probation violations.

They say around 5:55 p.m. on May 9, Roach was found in an apartment near 13th and Main Streets in Murray. Police say Roach ran away and was arrested in a backyard on North 12th Street.

In addition to the warrants, Roach was charged with fleeing or evading police first degree (on foot), resisting arrest and criminal mischief second degree.

Murray man arrested in connection with break-ins

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - A Murray man was arrested early Tuesday morning in connection with vehicle break-ins.

Matthew Deese, 20, was charged with three counts of theft by unlawful taking from automobile, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and fleeing or evading police second degree (on foot).

According to Murray police, they responded to 215 Brentwood in Murray at 5:11 a.m. in response to a call that someone was breaking into vehicles at that location. They say Deese ran, but was taken into custody a short time later.

Police say they believe he is responsible for several vehicle break-ins in the area.

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - On April 3, Kentucky State Police received a complaint of a possible non-compliant sex offender living on Diuguid Drive in Murray.

Troopers, along with KY Probation and Parole Officers, checked the home on Diuguid Drive and found Billy Houk, 36, and Amanda Brochin, 32.

Police say during an investigation, it was determined the Houk had been living at the home for over two months without registering the address and was also in violation of other sex offender regulations. It was also determined that Houk and Brochin had provided Kentucky State Police with false information about Houk’s residency during a previous compliance check about two months before.

Brochin was charged with harboring a non-compliant sex offender registrant first offense.

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Two arrested in Murray after Kentucky State Police serve warrant.

Joshua Vaughn, 19, was charged with fugitive from another state, fleeing or evading police first degree, giving police officer false name, possession of a controlled substance first degree (Methamphetamine), two counts of possession of a controlled substance first degree (Cocaine), trafficking a controlled substance first degree (Cocaine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of prescription controlled substance not in proper container, possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Farmington woman arrested in Murray for DUI, trafficking

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - A Farmington woman was charged after police saw her swerving and smelled alcohol in her vehicle.

Nakiah Gibson, 24, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol of drugs second offense (aggravating circumstance), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) first offense and two counts of possession of a controlled substance third degree.

On March 7 around 12:15 a.m., officers from the Murray Police Department saw a vehicle swerving in traffic. Police say an odor of alcoholic beverage was noted and the driver was taken into custody following administration of standard field tests.

According to police, a large amount of marijuana, along with plastic baggies and scales were also found in the vehicle.

3 cited in Calloway Co. for allegedly selling alcohol in a dry territory

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Three people were cited for illegal alcohol sales in north Calloway County.

Jessie Hunt III, 24 from Kevil; Isaak Perfetti, 23 from Greenville, Ill.; and Adam Uhrhan, 23 from Chaffee, Mo. were charged with trafficking in local option or dry territory, first offense.

They have all be cited to Calloway District Court.

An officer with the Kentucky Alcohol Beverage Control received a complaint of illegal alcohol sales at the fairgrounds off KY 121.

An investigation by the KABC and Kentucky State Police revealed that three people were illegally selling alcohol in a dry territory. Officers say a large amount of alcohol was seized.
