8 more charged in Calloway Co. 'Up in Smoke' operation | Crime

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Kentucky State Police say eight more people have been charged in their "Up in Smoke" operation.

KSP, Murray Police Department and the Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce conducted the operation on September 21. Thirteen individuals were charged by 9 a.m. that morning for various drug charges.

Since then, the following individuals have also been charged:

• Larry Caldwell, 23 Murray, Ky., was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, first offense (C Felony), and sell/transfer a simulated controlled substance 1st offense (A Misdemeanor).
• Jennifer Lee, 26 Paris, Tenn., was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense Cocaine (C felony).
• Thomas Broshears, 27 Murray, Ky., was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 2nd offense Meth (D felony), and persistent felony offender 2nd degree (felony).
• Jesse Hasselbrink, 29 Murray, Ky., was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (D felony), and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school (D felony).
• Deandre Ash, 28 Murray, Ky., was chargd with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 2nd offense Cocaine (C Felony).
• Savanna Richards, 25 Murray, Ky., was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense Cocaine (D felony).
• Steven Rowe, 56 Murray, Ky., was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 3rd degree, 1st offense (A misdemeanor).
• Michah Rayburn, 26 Murray, Ky., was charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces (A misdemeanor).

Operation “Up in Smoke” was the culmination of over eight months of investigation in and around Murray. KSP, Murray Police Department and the Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce are continuing their investigations and more arrests are expected to follow.
