MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Free screenings will be offered at the Community Health Fair on Thursday, July 21 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The community can get these free screenings at the Weak's Community Center Murray, Ky.

The screenings include: lipid, blood sugar, osteoporosis, pulmonary function and more.

No food or drink, except water, should be consumed before the lipid screening.

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Western Baptist Hospital's Bariatric Solutions will offer a sleeve gastrectomy support group on Tuesday, July 12.

The group is for patients and family members for those that have had the sleeve gastrectomy procedure. They will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the Bariatrics office and again at 5:30 p.m. at the Center for Health and Wellness.

The bariatric office is located at 403 E in the Medical Arts building and the center is located at 716 Poplar Street in Murray.

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - West Kentucky Allied Services, Inc is currently providing Weatherization Assistance to eligible homes in the Purchase area.

This assistance will make energy more affordable for low-income families through energy-saving advanced technologies. The hope is that this will save lives and keep families safer by identifying carbon monoxide hazards, poor indoor air quality, molds and other health threats.

Eligible households will receive a free dwelling needs evaluation which may result in work being done to provide energy-saving and safety measures.

The application process can be completed at each local WKAS office.
