Murray PD: Report of weapon at school actually pellet gun for squirrel extermination | News

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - The Murray Police Department responded to a call Tuesday, January 8 of a man near Murray Elementary School carrying what appeared to be a weapon.

Police say the received the call around 11:40 a.m. They say the school was placed on lockdown and a MPD School Resource officer at the elementary school alerted other officers.

According to police, the suspect was detained for investigation and it was determined  that the alleged weapon was in fact a pellet gun the man had been using to exterminate squirrels.

Police say the all clear was given at the school and at no time were any students in any danger.
