Rte. 94 reopened after semi overturned near Murray

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says Route 94 east of Murray is back open after a semi crash around noon on Friday.

According to KYTC, a semi overturned near the 16 mile marker. Route 94 was closed from the intersection of KY 80 to the intersection with KY 732. They say the crash site was in the Elm Grove Church area near Duncan's Grocery.

Officers say the semi was hauling fertilizer. The road was reopened just before 8 p.m.

3 car crash on College Farm Road near high school

 

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Murray police responded to a crash on College Farm Road in front of Calloway High School on Wednesday, March 13.

Officers say Deneshin Burton, 27, was driving a blue 2005 Hyndai westbound on College Farm Road. They say DeAnn Robinson, 18, in a green 1999 Suzuki and Mckenzie Adams, 18 from New Concord, in a green 2003 Ford were stopped westbound on College Farm Road.

According to the police department, Burton hit Robinson’s Suzuki, causing her to hit Adams’ Ford.

KY 293 closed Thursday for drain replacement

(KFVS)- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close KY 293 in Lyon County on Thursday, March 14th for drain replacement.

The road will be closed from mile point 2.4 at the intersection with KY 730 to mile point 3.7 near the Lyon-Caldwell County Line to allow the replacement of two cross drains.

The closure is expected to go up Thursday at 8 a.m. and crews plan to have the road reopened around 3 p.m. Thursday.

There won't be a marked detour but message boards will be placed at both ends of the closure to give drivers advanced warning.

There will also a message board in Caldwell County to allow for traffic to detour.

Murray police to hold spring Citizens' Police Academy

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Murray Police Department will be holding the Spring 2013 Citizens’ Police Academy during May and June, 2013.

The Citizens’ Police Academy is a program whereby citizens of Murray can learn more about police work in general, and how the Murray Police Department serves the community. It is an 8-week program which will meet on Monday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting May 6.

Topics will include: 911 communications, narcotics investigation, criminal investigations, DUI enforcement, traffic accident investigations, and other parts of the criminal justice system including corrections and courtroom procedures.
