Lap band support group meeting in Murray

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - The Murray-Calloway County Hospital will host a lab band support group on Thursday, April 7.

The group will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Center for Health and Wellness in Murray, Ky.

Fire hydrant flushing in Murray

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Fire hydrants will be flushed Sunday, April 17 by the City of Murray Water System.

They will be flushed from 7 a.m. to about 4 p.m.

The water system flushdes the hydrants semi-annually to help increase water flow and clear the system of any sediments that might have built up.

The city is suggesting that in case of any water discoloration, allow your cold water to run for a few minutes and wait to wash clothes until the flushing is finished and has cleared.

Glass pulverizer dedication ceremony in Murray

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - The city of Murray is holding a dedication ceremony for their glass pulverizer on Friday, April 8.

The ceremony will be at the city landfill or Transfer Station off of highway 80 at 3 p.m.

A glass pulverizer chops glass bottles and items down for recycling. The city has had the pulverizer for about two months and the public is welcome to bring their glass recycling to the landfill to be pulverized.

Diabetes self-management classes available at Murray Hospital

Diabetes self-management classes available at Murray Hospital

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Classes that offer the latest on diabetic treatment and self-management techniques are now available at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

The classes will be Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 23 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

They will be held in the Center for Health and Wellness.
