MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - Murray State Athletics and Time Warner Cable announced the broadcast 2012 schedule for MSU Football on the Racer Television Network.

The first of five broadcasts is Saturday, Sept. 15 when the Racers travel to Springfield, Mo. to face Missouri State.

The Racers' game at Eastern Illinois on Sep. 22 in Charleston, Ill., is also on the broadcast schedule, as is MSU’s road game on Oct. 6 at Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn. The Racer TV Network will air Murray State’s homecoming game against UT Martin on Oct. 13 and the game at Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 10 from Richmond, Ky.

“We are extremely happy to once again team up with Time Warner Cable in the broadcast of many of our football and men’s basketball games,” said Paul Bubb, Associate AD for External Affairs. “These games, made available through the Racer Television Network, can be seen throughout Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri, which is great for the Racer Nation.”

Time Warner customers will see the broadcasts on channel 16, while Mediacom will carry the games on channel 23 and 97. Murray Electric carries the Racers on channel 18, while Comcast subscribers will see the Racers on channel 17.

According to the university, Dave Winder, MSU’s Assistant AD for Media Relations, will handle play-by-play duties, while former Racer Football great Josh McKeel will provide color. McKeel played tight end for the Racers from 1997-00 and was named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference Team as a senior in 2000. McKeel was a player Calloway County High School in Murray and coached in the Laker program from 2002-11 including five seasons as head coach from 2005-11.

“I’m extremely excited for our new broadcast team of Dave Winder and Josh McKeel,” Bubb said. “Dave’s a veteran and experienced broadcaster and Josh, as a former player at Murray State and local coach, will bring some great insight to the booth for our viewers.”
