MURRAY, KY (KFVS) - The Murray State men’s basketball team was honored Thursday, April 12, by the Murray City Council during their regular meeting at the City Hall council chambers in Murray, Ky.

The Racers were honored for their 2011-12 season that included a 31-2 mark, the first undefeated road season in program history and highest national rankings.

Mayor Bill Wells and city council started their session by honoring the Racers in several ways.

MSU Director of Athletics Allen Ward was recognized as well as the radio voice of the Racers, Neal Bradley. MSU Head Coach Steve Prohm was honored along with the team that gave the Racer Nation the greatest season in 87 years of the program. Each student-athlete of Racer Basketball was invited to the podium to introduce themselves to Mayor Wells and the members of the council.
